On the first Sunday of every month for the past year a group of Wokefield Parish residents has met to spend a couple of hours maintaining the parish land either side of Goring Lane  in the vicinity of the junction with Goodboys Lane / Palmers Lane.

After a year's effort, the team achieved one of its objectives last Sunday. Namely to clear the verge between the Pightle and the Old Bell in Goring Lane to provide a safer pedestrian route to the pub and clear lines of sight around the bend by the pub.
